My Instagram takeover for Library of Fragrance UK

Hi everyone!

If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen that I took over the account of Library of Fragrance UK! I’ve blogged about their scents here and here if you’d like to have a read!

I have rather a crazy collection of scents now from their library, and yet I’m nowhere near done sampling them all! Their Colognes are intended to be unisex (cologne is a term that refers to the strength of the oils in the fragrance, rather than the gender it is intended for use by!) and are delicate enough to not overwhelm, but enough to wear alone or in layers. The range from the basics of scent (rose, patchouli, musk, oud) to the downright strange (Play-doh, Tomato and Gin & Tonic!) So far, I’ve been amazed at how wearable each and every scent, (yes, even playdoh!) can be.

I’ve included some images from the takeover below, but you can also go and follow Library of Fragrance on Instagram for more scent inspiration. Or visit their website! Thank you to the team at LOF for giving me this opportunity, I enjoyed myself!

My New Joy Louche Dress!

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to share my outfit with you today because I am super in love with my new Joy Louche dress! The sale in there at the moment is amazing! This dress cost me £24.00. I’ve been a fan of Joy for ages, and when the opened in Manchester recently I was really excited!

I chose this dress because it flatters my shape and gives me confidence. I really wanted to wear more dresses with summer being here. What do you think?

You can shop the sale here – I couldn’t find this particular dress though!

This style of dress (fit and flare) is flattering for all body shapes, and I like the way it’s not too short. I can’t stand too short dresses. Calf length is king!

I paired the dress with my new New Look ballet pumps – an absolute steal at £7.99! I opted for Nude pink for maximum co-ords with my current wardrobe, but they have some other lovely colours – at that price you can afford to get a few!

To accessorise I wore my Aubergine Fox cloud brooch, and my Oh Kuol Druzy necklace. I’m so happy that brooches are making a real come back as an accessory! Aubergine fox are one of my favourite Etsy shops, and their Instagram feed is an absolute dream.

It may be raining outside but I am dressing for the weather I want not the weather I have! Thank fully my bag is big enough to hold my brolly!!

Hey guys!

I realise that a lot of people prefer to use Bloglovin’ to read their favourite blogs and keep up to date with posts! I’ve been on there for a while and have rectified a slight issue where I had two blogs that were in effect the same, since I validated my domain name last year.

Treaclemoon Bath & Body Range

Hi everyone!

Have you spotted these products at the supermarket before? If you haven’t, meet Treaclemoon, a small ethical business selling delicious scented bath products. These are available in the UK from Tesco stores (and online) as well as being shoppable on Amazon.

Their range of scents is quite big, so I’m just going to share a few with you today. All of their products are cruelty-free, no ingredient is derived from animals and are suitable for vegetarians!

Being a complete Coconut addict, I had to own a few items from the range – body wash, scrub, body butter and body lotion – Yummy!

The ginger shower gel was a real hit with my husband. It’s such a fresh and zingy scent that really wakes you and energises you in the morning. It was a real joy to use.

This strawberry shower gel is an absolute dream! So girly, sweet and fresh. It lathers up really nicely, too, as do all the shower gels.

They have many more scents to try- which do you like the sound of? I have my eye on their seasonal scents which are limited edition – Chocolate, cinnamon and the like for Autumn and the approaching seasonal events.

I used Lemonade days in the shower last night – it builds into a really rich lather that left the bathroom scented with sherbert-y lemon for hours! Yum!

BarryM Speedy Quick Dry Collection

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry collection

Hello everyone!

You probably already know by now,  but I am a fully fledged nail polish freak,  and a Barry M addict in particular. In my view there is no better value polish on the market for quality you get.

The speedy quick dry collection really appealed to me as there’s nothing I hate more than smudging my nails! I’m always on the go and so the faster it dried the better. These polishes really do deliver on their quick dry polish.

I thought I would swatch the “brights”  of the collection (as they have pastels too!) that I own. They’re always bringing out more shades and my collection grows!

If you’re interested I can do a post showing the swatches of my pastels quick dry collection?

Hope you are having a great weekend!

How to make your Instagram Photos Stand out

For those of you who don’t know,  I’m a complete instagram addict. Everything I blog about inevitably goes up there first as a way of instantly sharing my enthusiasm for new products I review or items I receive from the brands and small businesses I work with.

They’re so beautiful I cannot resist! Sometimes it is hard to make a photo original and to stand out from all the other photos of the same product. I’ve included some ideas from my own feed to share with you!

Liquorice Allsorts

My favourite sweets right now –  who doesn’t love a good bag of all sorts! And don’t theyphotograph well?! Here they are making my instagram photos look amazing!

Watermelon Plate

Fruit is everywhere right now,  whether it’s in our fruit bowls at home as the summer season ripens,  or all over the high street in fabrics, and accessories.

I picked up this adorable watermelon trinket dish from Paperchase for £8.00. Isn’t it a dream?!  It’s pictured with my favourite nail polish right now,  pole position from the Barrym speedy quick dry collection!

Anything Colourful!

I am also in love with my Pina Colada cologne from Library of Fragrance UK – you can read more about my collection here and here. To make these photos more interesting i use unusual angles and scatter bright related objects around it. Here I used Poms poms and glitter and sequins from a mixed box from Paperchase! The cocktail stirrers were from Sainsbury’s.

Salt Clothing Company : Cotton Nautical T-shirts

I was super happy to receive some of these kick ass tee’s to show off to you this week. Salt Clothing Company is a hand printed apparel company born in a seaside surf town in Tyne and Wear, UK.

Salt clothing company box logo
Who doesn’t love a good nautical logo?!

The brand has been influenced by travels through surf towns, cities, villages, communities and destinations across the world – but it is from the North East of England that Salt takes it’s true essence: From the beaches and rugged coastline; from the rolling hills and harsh borders to the north; from the traditional mining and fishing villages that are dotted throughout the region; from the ‘salt of the earth’ folk that strive to survive; from the salty city slickers drawn to the region’s cultural centres; the famed cities and beautiful world renowned architecture.
Salt connects all these influences in one way or another: be it the earth; the food; the sweat; the tears; or especially the sea.

Poetic, huh?

They were kind enough to send me two t-shirts to show to you today. They arrived in a beautiful box and folded so prettily in tissue paper. The first thing that struck me was the quality. So soft!! The printing isn’t rigid like it can be on some t-shirts you get cheaply elsewhere.

I took photos instantly when I got them home, but I wanted to wait til I had a good way of styling them to share on my blog.

I can instantly see these appealing to festival goers, especically the black sleeveless number. So easy to wear, so soft and so versatile.

Here I am styling my Logo Boxy Tee priced at £10.00 (WOW). I am wearing it with my new favourite lipstick from the Clinique Colour pop collection, in Cola and my binky’s trinkets ship necklace. My collection of nautical necklaces from her Etsy shop make several appearances in fact!! I’m also wearing my red Zatchels Satchel. What a dreamy colour!

I also styled this Flèches Sleeveless Vest Tee in black.

I absolutely love their tee’s and highly recommend them to anyone – super soft, high quality and so easy to style.

Follow them on facebook, instagram and twitter!

Thank you Salt Clothing Company!

Etsy Spotlight : Midori jewelery

I’m forever amazed by the wonderful things you can find on Etsy these days. Why buy something everyone else has, when you can get something special and handmade! Not only are you unique, you’re helping a small business to grow.

In my day job I’m a business development manager so I guess that working with small businesses and showcasing them is in my nature!

Today I’m bringing you Midori jewelry,  an etsy boutique owned by Alyssa Harper in the USA. Her little shop started after she’d been inundated with requests to make pieces for friends and family. If that’s not home grown I don’t know what it!

I selected this ‘galaxy’ druzy bracelet to show off.

Isn’t it gorgeous?!

Go follow them on Instagram, to see their beautiful pieces,  or visit their Etsy shop to buy one of these yourself or browse the super cute collection.

Love x
